Apleona Secures FM Contract for 18 Public Properties in North Rhine-Westphalia

The property management company Bau- und Liegenschaftsbetrieb Nordrhein-Westfalen (BLB NRW) has hired Apleona HSG Facility Management to provide technical facility management for a total of 18 properties with a total area of 420,000 m² in the Cologne and Aachen areas. The agreed services include maintenance and servicing for all technical installations. The two contracts have a term of four years with the option of an additional year.

The contract award comes after two invitations to tender carried out over five lots in total. Apleona was able to secure both pitches following evaluation of its price and concept. In awarding the technical facility management contracts, BLB NRW is introducing a concept in line with common market practice that is being used for BLB NRW as the next step of an earlier TFM contract award.

BLB NRW is the owner and lessor of almost all properties of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia. With more than 4,200 buildings, a rental area of approximately 10.4 million m² and annual rental income of around EUR 1.3 billion, BLB NRW manages one of Europe’s largest and most demanding property portfolios. Its range of services includes the development and planning, construction and modernization, management and sale of technologically and architecturally highly complex properties.
