Questions about training

How can I find out about the various training options?

Your best option is to look in the “Pupils” section of our careers pages. You will find lots of information on our apprenticeships and dual course of study options.

Can I also find out about the training options on-site?

The training fairs we attend are a good opportunity for us to get to know each other and tell you about our wide range of training options. Here are the places where you can meet us next.

Whom should I contact if I have any questions?

If you have any questions, you are welcome to get in touch with the contacts named on our careers pages or in the job adverts.

What personal qualities do I need in order to be accepted for training?

Personal commitment and ability to work in a team are hugely important to us. In addition, you should enjoy learning about new subjects and activities and have real enthusiasm for your apprenticeship.

What secondary-school leaving certificate do I need?

Regardless of whether you have a good “Hauptschulabschluss”, “mittlere Reife” or “Abitur”, our wide range of training options provide interesting opportunities for holders of all school-leaving certificates! We advise you to look here (link to job board with “Training”) to see which training places are currently available.

When does the training start?

Depending on the apprenticeship or dual course of study, your training starts on 1 August, 1 September or 1 October each year. You will find out the precise date in the interview.

How long does training last?

The training period is usually three and a half years in the technical careers and three years in the commercial careers. The dual bachelor degrees run for six semesters.

Are there also opportunities to reduce the training period?

If you perform strongly at vocational college and in the company, there will be the opportunity to reduce the training period by six months. The decision on whether a reduction is advisable will be taken by the trainer in conjunction with you in the course of the training period.

At what vocational colleges does teaching take place?

That depends on your apprenticeship and the location at which you complete your training. You are welcome to ask this question in the personal interview. Your contacts on-site can also help you.

Does Apleona help trainees to find accommodation?

Essentially, you are responsible for finding your own accommodation. However, we are happy to answer any questions or put you in touch with other trainees at your location who can give you tips.
