Apleona to replace flooring in ZDF tower in Mainz

On behalf of Zweites Deutsches Fernsehen, Apleona R&M Ausbau is to replace the flooring in the television broadcaster’s administrative building in the Lerchenberg district of Mainz. The work, scheduled for completion by August this year, is part of the nearly four-year fire safety renovation of the building constructed in 1974.

In total, the interior fittings specialists at Apleona will replace more than 31,000 square metres of raised floors in the 19-storey building. This will involve removing the individual floor elements, applying new needle felt and reinstalling them. In order to minimise the disruption to broadcasting and administrative operations, the work will be carried out in stages and floor by floor. During the fire safety renovation, the broadcaster’s 1,250 employees will be moved to interim offices one building section at a time.
