Apleona to Carry out Hard Services for Biomedical Center

Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich has commissioned Apleona to provide hard services the new biomedical center (BMC) at the HighTech Campus in Martinsried/Planegg, near Munich. The agreed-upon services include commercial and operational management of all technical services, as well as property management, energy management, and first-level support including 24-hour on-call service.

The service agreement is open-ended. This comes after a tendering process that Apleona won. Apleona has extensive international experience and outstanding expertise in the management of life science properties with their specific, strict requirements in terms of availability, ventilation, and air-conditioning. Its customers include several market-leading bioscience and pharmaceutical companies. Prior to this, the most recent was SGS Group Germany.

The new biomedical center in Munich is one of the largest research complexes to be constructed in Germany in recent years and is regarded as one of the most important locations for life sciences facilities in the world. Various laboratories and systems with cutting-edge medical technology for around 60 research groups are among the facilities at the site, which comprises two research buildings and one teaching building and covers a total area of 18,000 m². Altogether, approx. 450 employees are based there.
