SGS Commissions Apleona to Provide Integrated FM for All German Locations

Since the start of the year, Apleona has been performing integrated facility management for SGS Germany, the German subsidiary of SGS, the world’s leading inspection and certification company. A service agreement valid until 2024 covering all German locations and laboratories was signed. This comes after a Germany-wide tender that Apleona won. The contract that was awarded includes full data acquisition for all technical facilities and spaces via cloud-based analysis software. Following a process of gradual acquisition, regular operations have been underway in most of the portfolio since March 2020.

The properties being managed comprise 52 locations, including administrative buildings and laboratories with strict HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) technology requirements due to different cleanroom classes, as well as the Hamburg headquarters and the SGS Institut Fresenius in Taunusstein (Hesse). This involves managing a total area of almost 100,000 m².

In addition to all technical and infrastructure services, the services agreed upon include maintenance and servicing for all building installations, cleaning services as well as reception and security services and even project management services. All services throughout Germany are being provided exclusively by Apleona.

Apleona COO Robin Petersen: “We’re delighted that another market leader is entrusting us with its entire German portfolio. We won them over with our high vertical integration, technical expertise and a flexible concept tailored to industry-specific requirements and are looking forward to starting what we hope will be another long service partnership.”

SGS Germany encompasses SGS Germany GmbH, SGS International Certification GmbH, the laboratories of SGS Institut Fresenius and the technical experts at SGS-TÜV Saar. On behalf of manufacturers, retailers or governments, SGS provides numerous inspection, monitoring and testing services across all stages of the value chain to ensure greater safety, more efficiency and higher quality.
