Apleona Takes on Integrated FM for Swiss Federal Railways in Zurich’s “Europaallee” District

As of July 1, 2021, Apleona HSG Facility Management Switzerland has been commissioned to handle integrated facility management for the “Europaallee” district of Zurich, which was completed in 2020. Apleona will thus take on all technical and integrated facility management services for eleven buildings for a term of five years. The services particularly include maintenance and servicing of the technical facilities, maintenance cleaning, and building safety. At a service point operated by Apleona, users will also be offered a wide range of concierge services such as locker hire, table reservations, and taxi and rental car organization.

The client is Schweizerische Bundesbahnen AG (SBB), which developed the urban district. The portfolio to be managed by Apleona in “Europaallee” covers an area of 78,000 m2 with usable floor space of over 240,000 m2, which includes 400 owner-occupied and rental apartments and 100,000 m2 of office space, as well as restaurants, shops, educational institutions, and leisure facilities. In this project, a large share of the services will be performed by Apleona itself at 70% to 80% in technical facility management and 90% to 95% in integrated facility management. Implementation began on February 1, 2021.

“We are proud of this commission for a challenging property in terms of quality and user satisfaction, which will allow Apleona to make full use of its key qualities, high technical expertise, and integrated services, performing a large share of the services itself,” explains Michael Rohner, Managing Director of Apleona HSG Facility Management Switzerland.

The “Europaallee” district in Zurich was built during the period from 2009 to 2020. Located at the heart of Zurich and right next to the central station, “Europaallee”is one of Zurich’s top addresses. In addition to its central location and the associated mobility, the urban district’s appeal as a business and residential area is also thanks to its urban diversity with a wide range of shops, restaurants, and other ways to pass the time. Companies such as Google, UBS, and Credit Suisse have therefore chosen “Europaallee”as their business location.
