Apleona Secures ABB’s EMEA Portfolio Ahead of Schedule for Another Five Years

  • Integrated FM for 130 locations in 15 countries with 2 million square meters of space

The technology company ABB has commissioned Apleona with integrated facility management for a total of 130 locations in Europe, the Middle East, and northern Africa. A corresponding service agreement with a term lasting until March 2027 was signed at the beginning of December. ABB has been a regular customer of Apleona since 2017. The portfolio now managed by Apleona, comprising more than 2 million square meters of space, has changed repeatedly in recent years, partly due to the commissioning of more services and additional country locations. Just at the end of 2019, another 25 ABB locations in Egypt, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Portugal, and Bulgaria were added.

Extensive services and reduction of CO2 and energy consumption
Apleona will provide all the conventional hard and soft services such as operation and maintenance of the building technology, security services, and cleaning. In addition, Apleona will support ABB with energy management in the increasing reduction of CO2 emissions and energy consumption in its buildings. Apleona will also implement major conversion projects at ABB locations and perform commercial services such as preparing and checking invoices for ancillary costs.

Costs reduced by using digital technologies
The contract that has now been signed stipulates that Apleona will achieve significant optimizations in portfolio management over the contract term, for example by means of technological innovations and digitalization. The new technologies to be used include remote monitoring and management of subcontractors and a completely reorganized customer portal to increase transparency and reporting, along with the digital reception desk and virtual reception services at ABB’s office locations.

CEO Dr. Jochen Keysberg comments: “The early renewal of this contract with a leading industrial company like ABB is a major sign of confidence in our performance as a service partner and crisis manager. We are delighted at this opportunity to live up to our aspirations as an innovative, integrated FM company for another five years with such a high-quality, regionally diversified portfolio.”
