Neue Direktion Köln
Best Practice / Interior Fitout / indoor climate control
The “Neue Direktion Cologne” was built on the site of the former “Königliche Eisenbahndirektion Cöln” (Royal Railway Directorate Cologne), on the Rhine near to Cologne Cathedral and the main station.
The building offers modern workstations for around 850 employees of the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).
Apleona R&M Ausbau Berlin GmbH was commissioned with the installation of heating and cooling ceilings to create a comfortable room climate. 650m2 of Munich-type metal ceiling grids, 6,500m2 of Berlin-type metal ceiling sails as well as 800m2 of Hamburg-type plasterboard ceilings were installed from the R&M Clima Concept program. R&M Clima Concept is a flexible, easy to use and resource-conserving modular system. Thanks to its flexible construction, the R&M Clima Concept is suitable for almost all ceiling shapes and types – from metal ceiling to plasterboard elements as well as flush-mounted ceilings.
The monumental office building seamlessly combines old and new. The protected, neo-classical facade shines in a new light and even the imposing entrance hall was integrated into the new construction in the original style. The two-story ellipsis with original elements that were also installed by the Apleona R&M Ausbau team is a core element of the design.
